Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Town of Brewster's Recreation Department. Most individuals who volunteer with Brewster Recreation are students looking for community service hours/school credit, or parents interested in coaching a team. Below are some of the many volunteer opportunities available with our organization. We welcome anyone and look forward to hearing from you. 

Events: Brewster Recreation hosts a plethora of events throughout the year. Many of these events require volunteer assistance before, during, and after each event. Most events are one day long and range in size and capacity. Volunteers are typically needed to help with event preparation and set-up, sign-in and registration, general supervision, and event break-down and clean up. Duties at events are subject to change depending on needs.   

Youth Sports: The success of our youth sport leagues is due in part because of dedicated volunteer coaches. Although most of our volunteers are parents who wish to coach their child's team, this is also a great opportunity for anyone knowledgeable in sports. Our younger athletes usually compete in house among other Brewster children while our older athletes travel and play other local towns. If you are interested in being a volunteer coach for one of our youth sport programs please contact our staff at 508-896-9430 before registering your child.  

After School Programs: These activities are usually held at 2:00PM directly after school from Monday-Friday depending on the season. These are shorter length programs that only last an hour and range from sport activities to art and educational programs. Volunteers will play a role in general youth supervision, and activity set-up and break-down.    

Seasonal Programs: These activities are usually on the weekends or unique times during the day when the recreation office is not open. With such a wide range of seasonal programs offered it is a great opportunity for volunteers to find something to fit their schedule and interests. Similar to our events, the duties are subject to change depending on needs. 
 
Summer Recreation Programs: A great opportunity to gain a lot of community service hours is during the summer. Options include morning recreation program opportunities, or afternoon program support. These programs are youth specific and a great opportunity to be active.
