Brewster Pickleball Group - Brewster Recreation Pickleball Group Membership 2024
Registration for the Brewster Pickleball Group Opens Friday, March 1, 2024Registration will remain open all season and will not be restricted. Dates: 7 days a week starting Monday, April 1, 2024 and ending Thursday, October 31, 2024 Time: 7:00AM - 10:00AMAges: Everyone 18+ Location: Brewster Community Youth Tennis Courts Price: $50R/$70NR. *Drop in play is $5 per day from June 1st to Oct 31st.*Participants 80+ are free (registration is still required) Program Description: Members of the Brewster Pickleball Group consists of roughly 200+ players ranging in age from 30-80+ that will have reserved times at the Brewster Community Youth Tennis Courts from 7:00AM-10:00AM each day. Pickleball is played on the 4 youth tennis courts, as well as 2 additional courts on court 4 of the tennis courts. Become a member and join the group and enjoy time outside with other players at your skill level. *During off hours, the courts are open to the public on a first come, first serve basis. *Participants must be 18 years old unless they are with an adult.*Routine grounds keeping and facility maintenance is scheduled for every Thursday morning starting in May. Members have access to pickleballs, picnic tables, and portable nets, if needed. The last members leaving the courts are responsible for putting equipment away and putting the umbrellas down. The majority of the members use the TeamReach app to communicate with each other. In 2021, there were two additional pickleball courts striped on court 4 of the upper tennis courts. The rules for that court are as follows:
Tennis courts 3 & 4 are only to be used by pickleball players if all the pickleball courts are full & are not being currently being used for senior tennis.
During Senior Tennis hours tennis court 3 & 4 are reserved specifically for that group from the hours of 9:00am-11:00am on Monday, Wednesday & Fridays.
Other then reserved times for Senior tennis, Brewer Pickleball group, or personal reservations, all courts are first come first serve outside of the reserved time.
Participants playing pickleball on tennis court 3 & 4 are responsible for setting up the net(s) and putting them away.

This clinic is for those who are new to the game and will learn how to play, basic skills, rules & scoring. Advanced Beginner Refresher Clinic: Friday, May 10, 2024 @ 1:00PM-2:30PM. For those who wish to refine their fundamental skills and propel your pickleball journey even further. Beginner & Advanced Beginner Clinic: Saturday, June 15, 2024 @ 3:00PM-4:30PM. Learn while you play. Participants will be placed on courts based on skill levelsAll Levels Clinic: Thursday, June 20, 2024 @ 3:30PM-5:00PM. All levels welcome and learn while you play. Coaches will put participants in game-like situations while learning positioning, scoring and techniques. This clinic is fun time for everyone.Coached play for Beginner, Advanced Beginner & Intermediate Players Saturday, June 29, 2024 @ 3:00PM-4:30PM.Coaches will teach participants specific strategies for serving, returning, and recognizing when to attack.Program Description:This pickleball clinic is designed for beginners/beginner+ level players who want to progress into more advanced play by working on strokes and utilizing them in a game. Players will be placed on courts based on participation from other clinics. If player hasn't taken a clinic before they be placed with the other beginners. New England pickleball ambassador Sherry Scheer will Host all skills and drills sessions. Sherry was the Coordinator of the Physical Fitness Degree Programs at Berkshire Community College. She is a 2 time National Pickleball Gold Medalist, 2 time US Open Medalist, Cape Cod Ambassador and an IPTPA certified Level I Pickleball Instructor. She is also a sponsored player by Engage Pickleball. IPTPA is the premier benchmark teaching and rating organization in the Pickleball arena. Sherry is the winner of more than 65 competitive medals. She competes in Pickleball tournaments and teaches private lessons and clinics in MA. She also has 37 years of Physical Education teaching experience. If you are looking to take the next step in your game, come join us! What To Bring: Pickleball paddle, water, proper clothing.* If rained out, the clinic will be made up the following day at the same time. All clinics are non- refundable, and you will not be given a credit.*
